Shaw Gibbs Financial Advisor achieves Later Life Accreditation

Nick Hutchings, Financial Adviser for Shaw Gibbs Financial Planning has achieved the Society of Later Life Advisers (SOLLA) Later Life Adviser Accreditation, the Highest Standard for advice in the Later Life Market.

Nick is a Chartered Financial Planner and a Fellow of the Personal Finance Society and considers himself as a life-long student of the Financial Planning Profession. He started advising clients in 1997 and in that time has worked with many individuals and families enabling them to plan and retire in a deliberate and structured fashion.

The Society of Later Life Advisers helps people and their families in finding trusted accredited financial advisers who understand financial needs in later life. All SOLLA advisers specialise in the financial needs of older people and they have voluntarily undertaken an assessment on top of their professional qualifications in order to achieve the Later Life Adviser Accreditation (LLAA) qualification.

The LLAA is made up of four standards which all need to be achieved to become accredited. These demonstrate: technical skills, the ability to work in a supportive environment, CPD and the application of knowledge and skills.

Ed Gibson, Head of Financial Services for Shaw Gibbs comments

“I am very pleased that Nick has achieved SOLLA LLAA accreditation. This means he can continue the later life advisory service which Tim Davison ran before his retirement.

The qualification is more than a set of technical competencies as the soft skills and practicalities of providing advice and information to those in later life are crucial to delivering a balanced and reassuring service.

It has been fantastic to see Nick’s commitment to become independently accredited for this specialised area.”
