BKL appoints William Aylward as corporate finance M&A specialist

William is highly experienced in negotiating and executing deals, fostering long-term relationships with forward-looking businesses in all sectors. His career in private equity and corporate finance has spanned North America, mainland Europe and the UK, including roles at Deloitte, Evelyn Partners and Oaklins.

William specialises in leading M&A processes from planning to completion for midmarket businesses. He also has extensive experience advising distressed, asset-heavy, and early-stage companies. As a senior member of BKL’s corporate finance team, he will work closely with the firm’s specialists in transaction tax, fractional CFO support, deal advisory and technical accounting to provide businesses with a comprehensive, full-suite offering.

Commenting on his appointment:

“BKL has an excellent reputation for guiding businesses through transactions of all types and complexities. As a leading accountancy firm with B Corp certification, they are helping to pioneer a new era of responsible advisory work emphasising trust, transparency and accountability as a modern replacement for the traditional investment banking approach. I’m excited to be joining the firm at a time of significant growth and look forward to helping them support even more businesses and entrepreneurs on their respective journeys.

William’s arrival demonstrates BKL’s ongoing commitment to building its senior-level expertise, providing a depth and breadth of technical expertise that matches clients’ ambitions. It follows the appointment earlier this year of new partners and directors in tax, accounts & business services, and audit; and earlier this month, Paul Barham’s appointment as Head of Private Client Tax.

It also reflects BKL’s first-hand experience of forward-thinking growth through M&A. This year, BKL completed a high-profile M&A with accountancy firm RBSCA.

Daniel Shear, Head of Corporate Finance at BKL, said:

“It’s great to be welcoming William to the team. The considerable experience he brings will have a real impact, reinforcing BKL as a place where forward-thinking business leaders can get comprehensive, high quality advice, wherever they are in their business lifecycle.”
