CBW Announces Partner Promotions

CBW are delighted to announce partner promotions across two CBW service lines: Dan Howarth, General practice, and Joe Colley, Corporate Recovery & Insolvency.

Both partners have shown great strength and support to their clients and colleagues over the recent pandemic.  Their resilience, positivity and ability to navigate the challenges of the last two years has been greatly recognised and appreciated by all those around them.

As well as further strengthening the areas of the business in which they operate, these promotions are integral to the ongoing development of the business as we continue to grow both nationally and on a global scale.

Dan joined CBW’s audit team in 2011 and has over 15 years’ experience in accountancy. Dan is responsible for auditing some of CBW’s largest clients and has gained significant experience in the audit of complex groups with overseas subsidiaries.  Dan is also a key member of CBW’s financial services sector and is looking at developing growth areas within the market.  Dan plays a highly active role at CBW and is a member of several committees, one of which is the charity committee which recently led the firm in the many initiatives that have taken place over the last two years to raise over £35k for the North London Hospice.

Dan Howarth said: “The Partnership is in a good place to seek new opportunities and to continue to grow organically, which is very exciting to be a part of. As a partner, I also see it as my responsibility to ensure the ongoing development of the team by mentoring, training and sharing knowledge, and also in living and following the CBW values and culture that make our business so special.”

Joe joined CBW in 2018, having previously started his career in 2006 at one of the largest insolvency and restructuring practices.

Joe has considerable experience advising clients in financial distress, having guided stakeholders through successful restructuring assignments on both a solvent and insolvent basis.

As well as playing an integral role within the business in supporting his team members and their on-going development, Joe is also well known outside of CBW within the industry itself. Joe is a Fellow of the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants and a Fellow of the Insolvency Practitioners Association (IPA). He sits on the Board of Directors of the IPA and holds the role of Chair of its External Affairs and Member Services Committee. Additionally, as an Approved Practitioner Joe works closely with the Charity Commission and is instrumental to this relationship.

Joe Colley said: “I am looking forward to continuing to develop and grow the CR&I department and supporting my colleagues and their clients in the wider practice.”

Peter Winter, Managing Partner, said “These promotions are extremely well deserved and reflect CBW’s ongoing growth in supporting clients across all our service lines, both nationally and right across the world.

Rewarding talent and embracing those with different perspectives and ideas is critical to the ongoing success of our business.  CBW has a training and development advisor who works with members of the team to help them map out their career paths and create development plans to support them to achieve their goals.  This has helped us celebrate many other promotions across the business over the last 12 months, of which we are extremely proud.”
