Brown Butler welcomes a new wave of managers

One of Yorkshire’s leading accounting firms, Brown Butler, has set its sights on the future as it recruits and promotes new professionals to its manager team.

The Leeds-based practice, which has seen considerable growth in recent years, has recently hired an experienced new manager, Nigel Thomas.

Nigel joins the practice as an Audit and Accounts Manager with decades of experience providing audit, accounting and taxation services.

He works with a wide variety of sectors including manufacturing, property, construction, retail and agriculture – offering pro-active advice to clients to improve their business and realise their goals.

Alongside this new hire, the firm has promoted Zoë Marshall, John Fenton and Adam Barnes to new roles as Audit and Accounts Managers in recognition of their hard work and dedication.

Zoë has almost 20 years of knowledge from working in general practice. In her new role as Accounts Manager, she assists a broad portfolio of companies in a wide range of accountancy matters, including complex VAT return preparation.

Meanwhile, John has supported clients across the country with his audit and accounting expertise for more than 20 years. Specialising in statutory corporate audits, John provides a friendly, professional point of contact for clients to discuss the difficulties they are facing.

Adam Barnes has also taken on a management role in the same department. He joined the firm straight out of school 15 years ago and has gained a range of qualifications with the firm. He now works with clients ranging from small owner-managed businesses to multi-million-pound global corporations.

John Brear, Brown Butlers’ Director and Principal, said:

As we look ahead, we need to ensure that we have a management team that can support our clients and our own aspirations as a firm.

The recruitment of Nigel, alongside the promotion of Zoë, Adam and John, is an important step for us and a reflection of the growing demand for our services in Yorkshire and beyond.
